- I've recently upgraded from a 2000 to a used 4000/040 and all
- went fine with one exception. I can't get my 425S to work
- with the 4091! It works fine if I hook it to the old 2091 in
- the 4000 but the transfer rate sucks (that's why I bought the
- 4091).
-
- I have no problems with a Lightning 730S (3.5 Megs/sec) or
- a Syquest 44 Meg or a CD-ROM drive or a Viper tape drive or
- a couple of other hard disk drive types that I've hooked up
- to the 4091 SCSI bus - just the 425S.
-
- What seems to be happening is the first access to the 425S
- seems to screw up the SCSI bus for the next access to the
- other devices on the SCSI bus. I've done bad block scans
- with the HDToolbox and no errors are indicated, it just
- seems to be when it's accessed via AmigaDOS with the 4091
- controller.
-
- I'm thinking that the 4091 may be using a SCSI-2 command
- that seriously confuses the 425S.
-
- What I'm asking is ...
-
- "Has anyone out there tried a Quantum 425S drive on a
- 4091 SCSI controller?"
-
- If so, please let me if you were successful or not via e-mail.
-
- Thank You,
